Doe Deere & Lime Crime – A Match Made In Heaven

When I ran across an article about this “new” cosmetics company that was certified vegan and cruelty free by PETA and Leaping Bunny, I had to find out more. Thus, I learned about the CEO and founder, Doe Deere. Now, I’ve got a girl crush! Ms. Deere is not only beautiful, smart, and creative, she’s inspiring!

 

Doe was raised in Russia, immigrating to New York at age 17. She attended FIT in New York majoring in fashion design, so creativity and style are part of her natural chemistry. She met her husband when they were in a band together and learned to collaborate as songwriters and promoters. He is now her also her current business partner. They have learned to work well together.

 

In 2004, Doe created and sold her own fashion line on eBay under the account name limecrime – named for her favorite color. She modeled her clothing herself and wanted vivid cosmetics to go with it. At the time, in 2008, the natural look was in – all shades of beige. She started making her own colors for herself and was surprised at the interest she received from other women. It was a natural step to move into creating a cosmetics line to share with them as well. That’s truly what her company is about: using fashion, cosmetics, and hair as forms of self-expression. It is an inspiration, to all women, to see a woman start small doing something she loves and turn it into a big success. Doe Deere enjoys sharing her experiences and knowledge with other women through occasional speaking engagements. She is an avid supporter of female owned businesses and entrepreneurship. One thing I admire about Doe Deere and Lime Crime cosmetics is how they test their products. No animals! Before a product goes on the shelf, Doe and her staff wear it to see how it performs. Doe is very hands-on in all departments. As CEO, her job is to keep things running smoothly. One day may be spent working on new products, the next with marketing, and the next brainstorming what is new with her Creative Director. Never boring at HQ!

 

Whether you want it for every day, special occasion, Halloween, or just for fun, every woman should have some to play with. The colors are amazing!
